T.J. Mahan General What a shame, seems like NCDOT or SCDOT would have made some use of the line, or NS donated/sold the line to a RR museum for excursion trip use. Seems such a waste to leave such an historic line to rust away into nothing! 5/27/2006 9:25:56 PM
Southern Railroad General A very sad sight indeed 5/28/2006 8:07:41 AM
Joe Magruder General I agree. That would make a great tourist railroad line; such beauty and history. Love the whole album. 5/28/2006 10:53:46 AM
Sam Davey General how much of this line is tore up. is it beyond repair or is this the only part. 5/28/2006 1:23:49 PM
Joe Hill General This is the only part that has been tampered with; the rest of the line is still intact. However, a few of the track signals have been taken down, and/or had their signal heads removed. 6/2/2006 6:57:20 AM
Jeff Marley General The pile of dirt and cut rails are so NS does not have to keep this track up to Federal standards. The track is not yet officially abondoned. It's been this way since 2003, so you guys are a bit late, but you can help by going here: http://www.saludagrade.org/ 2/8/2007 12:25:53 AM
Bradley Reim General Currently my fictional railroad is repairing this whole historic line for $ 35B the whole line should be completed and running by 2024. It will be apart of our Appalaichian District and will improve travel times for autoracks from michigan 6/17/2021 8:59:05 PM
